I've lost the buttons in Task Manager
   

This behaviour may occur if Task Manager is running in Tiny Footprint mode.

If you double-click the empty space in the border around the tabs, Task Manager switches to this mode.
Select

Ctrl + Alt + Del
   
Double click on the border area of the Task Manager Screen
   
   
Your menus will now appear.
