To Place a shortcut to a webpage on your desktop?

Move your Internet Explorer window to a point on your screen where you can see your desktop.

Place your cursor over the small Internet Explorer Icon in the Address bar of your Internet Explorer Window.

Hold down your "left" mouse button and drag the icon to your desktop.
You will now have a link on your desktop like this
